883,839. Electric battery lamps. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION. June 15, 1959 [June 30, 1958], No. 20330/59. Class 39(2) [Also in Group XX] A flashlight casing 1.is provided with a separate compass case unit 13 formed with transparent end walls 20, 22, and side wall 19 enclosing a magnetic compass needle 23, the wall 22 having markings thereon to form the dial and the unit 13 being so arranged that it is held on the casing 1 by the cap 7 which would normally hold a lens in place. As shown the unit 13 has a flange 14 of similar thickness to a normal flashlight lens. Alternatively the unit may have a similar crosssectional shape to that of the forward edge of the reflector 9.
