Abstract

A resinous article comprising a body formed of a linear high molecular weight homo-polymer of propylene having grafted thereon a polymer of a vinyl monomer having in the molecule a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic nucleus of a basic character is made by treating a polypropylene article, e.g. a thread, with ozone and reacting the treated thread under polymerizing conditions with an N-containing monomer, e.g. vinyl pyridine or vinyl carbazole. The article could subsequently be tinted by colouring materials.
