883,565. Motor vehicles. HARDY, C. C. M. Sept. 22, 1960 [Sept. 22, 1959], No. 32306/59. Classes 79(3) and 79(4). [Also in Groups XXII and XXXII] A motor vehicle comprises a chassis frame supported by one steerable wheel 5 at each end, a wheel 6 on each side and a driving wheel 7 located substantially centrally driven by an adjacent engine 8. The frame comprises inner and outer annular members 2 and 1 joined by radial members 3 and members 4 which define wheel openings on the inside of the outer member 1. An in-line arrangement of the three wheels 6, 7 is avoided to minimise pitching of the vehicle. Radial frame members 9 may be extended upwards and inwards to meet in the middle and form a framework to which the roof and body panels are secured. In an alternative the frame and framework comprise flexible inflatable tubes which are covered by an inflatable web forming the body. The vehicle preferably has a bumper 13 preferably made of resilient material surrounding it at its widest portion and is controlled from a single control 15 by the driver sitting in the middle of the front seat. In other alternatives (Figs. 3 and 5, not shown) a transverse hinge is provided behind the driving wheel, the driving wheel and side wheels, which are in-line in these alternatives, being attached either to the front or rear portion of the vehicle.
