883,513. Garages. DEAN, W. H. Dec. 5, 1957 [Sept. 5, 1956], No. 27170/56. Class 20(1) A multi-storey garage has a circular ground floor comprising a radial entrance 2, an outer ring road 6 having parking spaces 7, an inner ring road 3 having parking spaces 4, 5, and plinths 9 between the two roads to support columns which support an upper floor of the garage. Further support plinths 11 and 14 are disposed around the inner edge of the inner ring and the outer edge of the structure respectively. Walls 10, 12 and 15 may join the plinths. Ramps joining adjacent floors extend from the entrance 2 to the ring roads of the first floor and one of these can be replaced by a helical roadway. The upper floors may have a cantilevered outer annulus to provide further parking spaces.
