Abstract
883,413. Shirt sleeves. FORTELLA Ltd., and HOFF, H. Feb. 13, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1956], No. 38225/56. Class 141 A shirt sleeve adjustment tape attached inside the sleeve at one point on the sleeve seam 15 and at one or more further points spaced lengthwise of the sleeve from the first point is so secured that the distance between the upper and lower points of attachment can be varied. In Fig. 1 a tape 17 of Y-form has button-holes 20-22 for selective engagement with the button 16 on the seam 15. The ends 18, 19 of the tape may be stitched to the armhole seam 14 or to the upper edge 24 of the cuff if the tape is inverted. In modifications, Figs. 3, 5 (not shown) the Y-shaped tape is replaced by a straight length of button-holed tape. The button on the seam may be replaced by a button-holed tab for engagement with buttons on the tape. In a modification, Fig. 4, the tape 33 passes through loops 30; 31, 32 on the sleeve seam and armhole seam respectively, the ends of the drawstring tape being adjustably tied together. The Provisional Specification describes further arrangements of tapes in shirts and blouses.
