Abstract

883,176. Wire fabrics. HOPPE, G. June 24, 1, 1958, No. 20128/68. Class 45. [Also in Groups II and IX] The screen bottom of a vibratory sieve comprises two sets of parallel wires, the wires of a first set being interposed between the wires of a second set, and the wires of the first set being of greater resilience than those of the second set so as to deflect more under load. When of the same material the wires of one set may have different cross-sectional areas than those of the other set, or differently tensioned, or differently supported ; alternatively the wires of the two sets may be of different material. In Fig. 2, the longitudinal wires and the transverse wires of a square mesh screen comprise sets a, b of wires of greater and less resilience. In Fig. 4 the alternate wires a, b, are identical but the wires a are looped around rigid supporting webs c and the wires b are looped around elastic buffers e attached to the said webs. As shown the loops of the wires are clamped by the parts d and f secured by screws h.
