Abstract

883,010. Retaining rings. BRUTON BROS. Ltd., W. R. June 20, 1960 [June 25, 1959], No. 21777/59. Class 89(1). A spring retaining ring comprises a disc, having an aperture 1, and a dished portion 2, the latter having radial slots 3 to form tongues 5. The tips of the tongues have teeth 4 which when engaged over a stud or the like, are flexed so that they grip the stud. The ring has a rim 6 of part circular cross-section, and a dome shaped cover may be fitted, the edge of which is curled under the end 9 of the rim.
