Abstract

882,622. Furniture joints. PAG PRESSWERK A. G. Aug. 25, 1960 [June 8, 1960], No. 29401/60. Class 52(2) In a joint for connecting moulded table tops, chair seats and the like to a supporting tubular metal frame, a metal bush 3 is inserted in a bore 2 in the top 1 and has a collar 6 with deflecting surface 7 and a metal sleeve 8 having, at one end 9, teeth 10 is slid over the bush, the surface 7 causing the teeth 10 to bend outwards and penetrate into the top 1 and secure the bush and sleeve to the top. A supporting frame is secured to the top by a screw which engages a screw thread 5 in a bore 4 of the bush 3. In the case of thin laminates the sleeve 8 is heated before insertion.
