Abstract
Arylborazoles are produced by reacting, in an inert organic solvent, a B-haloborazole of one of the general formulae (HNBX)3, (RNBX)3 and (R1NBX)3 with a Grignard reagent, distilling the solvent from the reaction mass, adding water to the mass freed from solvent and separating the resultant solid arylborazole from the aqueous solution, e.g. by filtration; where R is an alkyl radical, R1 is an aryl radical, and X is a halogen atom, provided that when the B-haloborazole is of the formula (HNBX)3 or (RNBX)3 then the Grignard reagent must contain an aryl radical. An example describes the production of B-triphenylborazole by reacting B-trichloroborazole and phenyl magnesium bromide in ether, distilling the ether off, adding water to the mass and separating the remaining solid B-triphenylborazole from the aqueous solution.
