Abstract

881,677. Fading strips for kinematographic films. SCHULER, W. Feb. 23, 1960, No. 6254/60. Drawings to Specification. Classes 97(1) and 98(2). A process for producing fading strips for kinematographic films comprises forming a continuous 'series of greys from opaque-black to fully transparent on normal photographic film material and photographing this with the interposition of a line or point screen either directly on to the fading strip material or on to a film strip by means of which it can be printed on to the said material. The series of greys may be -produced by (a) spraying white paper with black paint or ink and photographing the result out of focus or through an opalescent screen, (b) forming an arch of the film in a sensitizer bath, exposing it to light and developing it, (c) exposing the film to light and moving a shutter across it.
