Abstract

1530184 Colour photography; camera KONISHIROKU PHOTO INDUSTRY CO Ltd 15 July 1976 [23 July 1975] 29508/76 Headings G2A and G2X A colour-positive print is formed by (a) recording an image of an object in a picture area of a colour negative material, (b) passing ambient light through a diffuser and on to a photo-sensitive portion of the material outside the picture area to expose the portion non-imagewise to ambient light; (c) photographically processing the negative colour photosensitive material to form a colour negative image in the picture area and a darkened area in said portion; and (d) and colour printing a colour positive from said colour negative, the printing light used being so colour-corrected that the non-imagewise exposed portion is reproduced on the colour positive with a predetermined colour and density. A camera for use in the above method comprises means for holding a negative colour photo-sensitive material, a light-transmitting diffuser, and optical means for transmitting light which has passed through the diffuser on to a photo-sensitive portion of the material outside a picture area to imagewise expose it to ambient light. Preferably the optical means comprises a shutter which is linked for operation with the main shutter and may also comprise a diaphragm linked to the main diaphragm.
