Abstract

881,436. Valves. JEFFERY, H. S., and STOKES CASTINGS Ltd. Nov. 25, 1959 [Dec. 11, 1958], No. 39952/58. Class 135. A butterfly valve disc 4, Fig. 3, is located in a duct 6 the connecting flanges 7 of which provide two oppositely facing semi-circular seats 9 for the edge of the disc 4. The disc 4 is formed of two substantially semi-circular plates 11, Fig. 1, which overlap at their common diameter and are secured together by bolts. Each plate 11 is formed of one or more sections and reinforcing ribs 15 are provided.
