Abstract
881,277. Electronic counting-apparatus. BURROUGHS CORPORATION. June 18, 1959 [June 23, 1958], No. 21021/59. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] In a circuit for controlling a magnetron beam switching counting tube (see Group XL (c)), the beam is reset to zero by means of a clear and reset pulse 46 from a blocking oscillator 44. The negative part of the pulse 46 clears the tube but the positive part does not reach the " 0 " spade immediately because of the delay circuit 58, 38<SP>1</SP>. The beam is thus reset to " 0.'' The diode 60 facilitates resetting by preventing the negative part of pulse 46 reaching the " 1 " spade. Alternate switching electrodes 20 are fed from opposite sides of a flip-flop circuit 67 via cathode followers 65, 66. The beam position is indicated on a glow cathode numeral tube 34.
