Abstract
917,371. Counters. ELESTA Ltd. May 29, 1961 [March 2, 1961], No. 19286/61. Class 106(1). A multi-cathode tube for counting in a scale of n has 2n main cathodes and 2n auxiliary cathodes. An input pulse at 41 is differentiated by a multivibrator 30 to apply pulses to leads 23-26 in succession to shift the discharge one counting step in a clockwise direction. If switches 51, 52 are reversed, the leads are energized in the order 25, 26, 23, 24 to move the discharge in a counter-clockwise direction. Indication of the count is effected by conveying the lowered potential on the conducting cathode such as 10 through network 55-57 to an output terminal 54. Transfer to the next denomination can be effected over the appropriate terminal 54.
