783,102. Digital electric calculating apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Nov. 30, 1955 [Dec. 2, 1954], No. 34970/54. Class 106 (1). Zero resetting arrangements for electronic multi-cathode tube type of counter include means for applying a reset pulse to each stage and simultaneously applying a pulse to the carry-over apparatus to render it inoperative during the resetting operation. The zero cathode Ko of each counter tube is connected through a resistor Ro to a bus-bar RBB which delivers a negative reset pulse to each zero cathode and also, via a condenser C4, to the trigger electrode of each transfer tube T, thus rendering ineffective the carry-over arrangements. Rectifier W1 prevents overswing from affecting the tube T, and rectifier W2 allows ordinary cathode current to pass from the zero cathode Ko while presenting a high impedance to the reset pulses applied at terminal A. The carry-over arrangements are described in Specification 782,433.
