Abstract
881,228. Ventilators. HAPPICH G.m.b.H., Geb. Feb. 4, 1960 [Feb. 5, 1959], No. 3978/60. Class 137. A ventilator for a vehicle comprises a base plate 1, and a flap 8 pivoted thereto by a linkage 12, 13 and is characterized by a sealing gasket 4 having lips 6 so that it forms a seal between the base plate and the surface 2 to which it is secured and also forms a seal between the flap in its closed position and the base plate. The base plate and flap are formed from sheet metal and a perforated plate 9 is secured to the flap and carries the cross piece 12<SP>11</SP> of a U-shaped member having sides 12<SP>1</SP> and inturned ends 12<SP>111</SP> which engage in lugs 13<SP>1</SP> on the base plate. Torsion spring coils 17, 17<SP>1</SP> fixed between the base plate and a lug 15 of the flap are arranged to hold the flap both in its closed and open positions. A modified form of linkage 12, 13 in which the lug is on the flap is also described.
