Abstract

881,192. Swash-plate pumps. DOWTY HYDRAULIC UNITS Ltd. and UNIPAT A. G. July 31, 1958 [July 31, 1957], No. 24320 /57. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A swash-plate pump comprises a rotating cylinder block 1, Fig. 2, a swash-plate 3 integral with the driving shaft 7, and stationary valve member 2 secured to a yoke 5 pivoted about an axis 6 to vary the stroke of the pistons. A bearing housing 8 for the drive shaft and thrust plate carries disc like lugs 13 housed in a recess 14 of the yoke through trunnion bearings 15. The above parts form a unit which is mounted in a casing 54 by rotary bearings 21, 22 coaxial with the trunnion bearings and the housing 8 is prevented from transverse movement relative to the rotational axis by a bearing ring 11 engaging the easing. As shown in Fig. 3, each bearing, such as 22, is formed of hard steel and receives a spigot 31 of the yoke in a recess 33 and is secured to the spigot by screws 34. The bearings are mounted in holes 36, lined by a sleeve of hard steel 38 which is secured against rotation by dowel pins 39. Shims 57 are provided for correct assembly. Seals 46 are mounted in the bearing for conducting liquid through the bearing to and from passages in the yoke to supply and discharge pipes 51. Specification 824,945 is referred to.
