An apparatus for the manufacture of dry granulated fertilisers comprises a rotating tubular casing divided into two adjacent compartments, the front compartment being used for granulation and the rear compartment for drying, and a group of pipes for the supply of a flow of hot gas into the casing, the gas-supplying means including at least one gas injector constituted by a group of fixed gas supply conduits leading into a chamber limited partly by a fixed longitudinal partition and partly by the wall of the rotary casing, the chamber being heated inthe lower part of the front compartment. In a preferred embodiment which may be used for the treatment of nitrogen, potassium or phos phate fertilisers, the apparatus comprises a tubular casing 1 which can be rotated about its axis by a motor 2 and a belt and gear drive, the casing having rings by which it is supported on rollers 4. In a granulator 5 which has smooth walls 8 is housed a gas injector 11 which also forms a scraper and which comprises a group of conduits 12 fed in parallel by a pipeline 13 which supplies gas under pressure. Conduits 22 are coupled to the conduits 12 and are controlled by a valve 41 and supply gaseous reagents such as ammonia or carbon dioxide. A shoot 25 fed by a hopper 26 permits the feeding of solid constituents in powder form and one or more small diameter conduits 27 supply liquid reagents. A pipeline 31 leads to a chimney 29 which ends in a deflector 30 just inside the drier 6 which is provided with helical blades 42 and a group of radial partitions 44 provided with blades 45. The casing 1 leads in to a chamber 51, the lower part of which forms a fertiliser discharge hopper 52, the upper part of which communicates with a conduit 53 which is connected to a fan 55 through a cyclone 54.
