880,279. Pipes and pipe joints. WIBAU, WESTDEUTSCHE INDUSTRIE-UND STRASSENBAU - MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. Aug. 5, 1960 [Aug. 5, 1959], No. 27177/60. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). Pipes of bituminous material are formed with polygonal, preferably hexagonal, cross-section to facilitate stacking and each pipe length has a conical projection adapted to fit a similar conical recess at the end of an adjacent pipe. The pipes may have reinforcing rods at the corners of the polygonal cross-section and the tubes may be connected together by softening the ends by warming or by using a bituminous film of binding material between the interfitting conical parts.
