Abstract
880,072. Permanent magnet generators. WESELCO Ltd. Nov. 24, 1958 [Nov. 30, 1957], No. 37728/58. Class 35. [Also in Groups XXVII, XXIX and XXXVIII] A tachogenerator for use in controlling the fuel injection period of an I.C. engine in accordance with the speed comprises a permanent magnet rotor 1 (Fig. 1) driven by the engine, co-operating with two stator windings 4, 6 mounted diametrically opposite to produce in-phase A.C. voltages whose magnitude and frequency are proportional to the rotor speed. One stator winding 6 is angularly displaceable by a rocker arm 11 in accordance with the degree of vacuum in the induction manifold 8, to produce phase displacement between the two voltages.
