Class 72 [Also in Groups XII and XL(b)] In an oxygen-blown steel-making process oxygen lance 1 incorporates a photoelectric or optical device 7 and the position of the lance is controlled by the intensity of light produced by the reaction between the oxygen and metal. The photo-electric device may be a photo-transistor which controls lance-advancing motor 9 or an audible or visual alarm. Specification 867,081 is referred to.
