Abstract

878,554. Two-part couplings. ELECTROLUX Ltd. Jan. 2, 1958 [Jan. 10, 1957], No. 175/58. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXVIII] A vacuum cleaner is connected to supply cable 26 through a detachable two-part coupling box 14, 15, provided with a foot switch 30 and resilient socket contacts 33 (Fig. 3) which cooperate with contact blades 34 moulded into the base of the removable dish-shaped member 13 which is secured in the housing of the appliance with the interposition of a gasket 20. Blades 34 are connected to the field windings of the motor through junction members on the underside of member 13 between which a capacitor is connected. The cable may be gripped by clamp 28 and member 13 may rest on a bracket fixed to the housing of the appliance.
