878,462. Electrically released switches. TAYLOR ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS Ltd. May 21, 1959 [May 21, 1958], No. 16316/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVI] In a moving coil instrument, movement of the coil 12, Fig. 2, beyond its normal limits turns one of the levers 24, 25 to move a latching lever 30 from engagement with the end of a pin 52 mounted on a resilient lever 40, which lever rises when released to open or close the contacts of a switch 44. The contacts may be in the main circuit, or in the circuit to the moving coil, or alternatively may be made in the event of overload to short circuit the moving coil. The position of pin 52 is adjustable longitudinally.
