Abstract

1,12-Dodecanedioic acid is prepared by oxidising cyclododecanone with air in the presence of glacial acetic acid containing from 1 to 20% by weight of water and of an oxidation catalyst. Temperatures of 70-150 DEG C. and pressures of 1 to 20 atmospheres are preferred.
