Abstract
877,703. Fuel elements. UNITED KING- DOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. May 31, 1960 [July 10, 1959], No. 23765/59. Class 39(4). In a fuel element including a cluster of spaced sheathed elongated fuel members each supported at one end by a support. structure and at the other end by a locating structure, the sheaths are integral with the support structure and are shaped to locate free ends of fuel members of an adjacent cluster. The fuel members shown have cup-shaped sheath members 10 which are integral with supporting webs 5 and which locate the ends 9 of adjacent fuel. members. The fuel members are UO 2 tubes filled with MgO.
