877,607. Washing machines; wringers. FREIRE, A. C. July 7, 1960, No. 23798/60. Class 138 (2). In a washing-machine comprising a main compartment 1 communicating with a subsidiary compartment 4 through a perforated screen 3, water is drawn from the compartment 4 by a pump 6 and returned to the compartment 1 through a number of injectors which produce random currents of water and prevent the clothes from blocking the screen. The flow of water under pressure through the injectors causes them to oscillate laterally, each injector comprising two pipes 9, 10, Fig. 6, connected by a resilient pipe 11. The pipes 9 are connected by pipes 8, 7 to the pump 6. The bottom 2 of the compartment 1 is formed in a parabolic curve. The clothes are dried in a perforated container 12 by means of an expansible rubber bag 17. By opening a valve 18 part of the liquid in circulation is diverted to expand the bag 17.
