The conveyer described in Specification 818,649 for conveying work-carriers through a series of treatment tanks is provided with an electric hydraulic control system by means of which the means for transferring the carriers from tank to tank cannot be actuated if any carrier is not at its highest or lowest position or if there is a gap in the track on which the conveyer runs. A time switch is provided for the elevator of each carrier which comes into operation when the elevator reaches its lowest position and causes the elevator to rise after a predetermined time has elapsed. Means also is provided for preventing the actuation of the elevators during the forward movement of the transferring means.
