Abstract

876,831. Drive for chain conveyers. JOCHUMS, A., and WITTKOP, E., [trading as HAUCHINCO MASCHINENFABRIK G. HAUSHERR JOCHUMS & CO.]. April 29, 1959, No. 14619/59. Class 78 (1). Endless chain conveyer 1 having load-carrying plates 2, is driven intermittently by hydraulic cylinder 10. The cylinder is pivoted at one end at 11 and, at the other end, has piston 12 which pushes carriage 15. Carriage 15 carries two pawls 21, each pawl being pivoted at 20 and supported at 24 by strap 25, the strap being supported at 26, both the pivots 20 and 26 being disposed on the carriage. When the piston 12 of cylinder 10 reciprocates the carriage 15, the pawls engage their respective chains 1 to move the latter on the forward stroke whilst idly passing over the chains on the backward stroke.
