Abstract
875,005. Pulleys. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. March 10, 1959 [March 13, 1958], No. 8249/59. Class 80 (1). The V-shaped rim 1 of a rope pulley for pithead gear has a friction lining formed of radially-disposed laminations 2 of wood, leather, rubber, synthetic or other material stacked around the rim, each lamination having a pair of shoulders 4 engaging shoulders in the rim. The shoulders 4 are positioned nearer the pulley axis than the base of the rope groove in the lamination to ensure that if the lamination is deformed under load, as shown in dotted lines, the lamination shoulders remain in engagement with the shoulders in the rim. The outer edges of the lamination may, as shown, contact the rim walls and be cemented thereto, or may be spaced therefrom.
