Abstract

874,710. Valve multistable switching circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 27, 1959 [Aug. 5, 1958], No. 25085/58. Class 40(6) [Also in Group XIX] An indicating system comprises a cold cathode tube containing an anode and at least one cathode the latter being connected in series with a cold cathode triode for triggering a discharge at the cathode. A cold cathode numeral indicator tube 10 has ten cathodes which indicate the numerals 0-9 and one anode 11. Connected to each cathode respectively is the anode of a cold cathode triode 18, 19 &c. the h.t. for which is derived from a supply connected to terminal 26. Application of a triggering potential to any one of the triodes causes it to strike thus lowering the potential at one of the cathodes of the tube 10. To prevent more than one cathode being struck at any one time, bias capacitors, e.g. 52, are connected across the cathode resistors of each triode and capacitors 56, 57 &c. are connected from each cathode of the tube 10 to a common point or alternatively capacitors 61, 62 &c. may be connected between each cathode.
