873,618. Step-by-step conveyers. UDYLITE RESEARCH CORPORATION. Dec. 30, 1959 [Jan. 26, 1959], No. 44311/59. Class 78 (1). In work assemblies, which are particularly suitable for transporting workpieces through liquid treatment cycles, a common power means is operable both to raise and lower a frame supporting a work-carrier and to move the workcarrier relatively to the frame. Each worksupporting frame 20, Fig. 2, is supported by rollers 26 running on a track 18. The frame is of inverted U-shape and its legs 22 have racks 28 mounted on them. The work container 72 is rotatably mounted in the side members 34 .of a frame 32 which can slide in the frame 20 to a limited extent. Pinions 65 at the ends of a shaft 64 rotatably supported in the frame 32 mesh with the racks 28. The shaft 64 is driven by a reversible electric motor 50 through an over-running clutch 62 and a gear reduction unit 56. This unit drives also through gears 66, 68 a gear 70 mounted on the container 72. Specification 711,986 is referred to.
