Abstract

873,001. Receptacles for growing plants : watering plants. JONES, S. R. March 17, 1959 [March 20, 1958], No. 8947/58. Class 6(2). A plant pot 1 of any suitable material such as metal, pottery, or a synthetic resin, is provided on its outer face with at least one reservoir 2 which may be integral with or secured to the pot, water passing from each reservoir to the interior of the pot via holes 3 in the regestering portion of the side surface of the pot. The perforated portion or portions of the pot may take the form of withdrawable slides, corresponding non-perforated members may be slidably mounted within each reservoir to mask the perforations if necessary, and each perforation may be provided with a deflector to prevent its being blocked by the contents of the pot. The pot is provided near its base with an inwardly projecting rim or lugs to support a removable, perforated disc 6, the space below the disc containing sand, gravel or similar substance 7 suitable to act as a drainage bed.
