Class 59 A roller mill more particularly for grinding small coke and comprising hard steel, or hard steel-covered, grinding rollers, one of which is yieldably mounted, is characterized in that the end regions of the grinding rollers consist of a material of less hardness than that of the remainder of the surfaces of the grinding rollers. The reduced hardness at the roller ends can be produced during casting of the rollers or during the hardening process. Preferably, however; each roller is provided with a metal ring 11 of less hardness than that of the remainder of the roller.
