Abstract

872,244. Coin-freed vending apparatus. VERDIER, M. April 8, 1960 [April 10, 1959], No. 12503/60. Class 27 A coin-freed machine for vending packets 8 from magazines 7 comprises a slide 10 movable on a rail 9 to a position under a selected magazine and an electric motor 19 on the slide for rotating an ejector arm 22 through one revolution to deliver the lowermost article in the magazine to a shoot 33. A cam 21 on the motor shaft operates contacts to stop the motor after one revolution and lowers a pin 26 into one of several holes 32 in the rail 9 to lock the slide at the selected position. The slide is movable by a knob 12 having an index mark 13 co-operating with coloured marks 14 at each magazine and contacts 38 co-operate with a resilient blade 39 to illuminate a lamp 17 behind a window 15. The motor operates on pressing a button 18. Change-giving devices 41 are mounted behind magazines in which the articles cost less than the value of the inserted coin and comprise a plate 50 adjustably mounted on spring-loaded levers 49 and carrying a palette 53. The packet being ejected abuts the palette and a lug on the palette moves through a slot at the bottom of the change tube 42 to eject one or more coins which are momentarily supported to prevent wedging by a finger 56 on the palette. The locking pin 26 may also be connected to a trip lever 28 for moving an anti-theft shutter or flap into the shoot 33 or behind the magazine 7 or behind the change device to prevent its movement.
