Abstract
A moulding process comprises placing a liquid phenol-aldehyde resol, and a hardener with or without a foam producing agent in a bag of relatively impervious thermoplastic film, e.g. polyethylene, placing the bag, either before or after charging, in a hollow structure, allowing the foam to assume the shape of the hollow structure and, after the hardening has taken place, sealing the thermoplastic bag. The process is primarily directed towards filling the cavities of cavity walls but the article may be removed from the hollow structure after hardening has taken place. The resin may be "Bakelite" (Registered Trade Mark) and the foaming agent may be sodium carbonater, sodium bicarbonate or aluminium powder.
