Abstract

870,850. Shirt &c collars. TRUBENISED (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. Feb. 3, 1960 [Feb. 9, 1959], No. 4432/59. Class 141 A shirt &c. collar includes a piece 6 of heavyweave fabric so woven that on the neckband side of the foldline a tubular pocket is formed within the thickness of the fabric, a stiffening strip 13 being accommodated in the pocket. The piece 6 may constitute a single-ply collar or form the interlining of a three-ply collar as shown. The fabric 6 is so woven as to provide a zone 12 of reduced stiffness extending along the foldline. The stiffness 13 may comprise a straight or curved strip of a polyester film or a fused fabric assembly and may be permanently retained in the collar or removable through a hole 15 or 16.
