Abstract
870,690. Knitting-machinos. SDRUZENI PODNIKU TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI. June 1, 1959, No. 18527/59. Class 74 (2). A stop-motion for a circular machine driven by an electric motor through a belt drive, comprises a feeler 21 adapted to engage misplaced or broken needles whereby trip mechanism 29, 30 is operated to release a spring-loaded rod 36. The rod 36 carries a boss 41 which when the rod moves upwardly, engages a lever 18 connected to a pivot pin 2 of an electric switch. The pin 2 also has rigidly secured thereto a lug 10 on a boss 9 which on upward movement of the lever 18 engages a projection 4 of a sleeve rotatable on pin 2 and carrying a contact 5. The sleeve is normally urged by a spring 7 into a position in which contact 5 is spaced from a stationary contact 14 and is retained in that position by a stop 6. When the lever 18 is moved upwardly, therefore, the contacts are brought together, thereby completing an electrical circuit to stop the machine. Simultaneously a collar 42 on the rod 36 lifts a lever 43 which releases the belt shipping mechanism 52 and causes the belt to move on to the slow pulley. The boss 41 having passed above lever 18, the lever and lug 10 are pressed downwardly, when the mechanism is reset, against the action of a spring 11 connected to boss 9, and simultaneously the contact 5 is disengaged from contact 14 by the action of spring 7.
