[Also in Group XXV] A recessed lamp fixture assembly comprises a box 11 haying an open side, a face plate 16 forming a closure for the open side a joint means 17 secured to the face plate at one side thereof facing the inside of the box, a lamp shade 19 disposed on the other side of the face plate and secured to the joint means; a recess defined by a formation in the face plate the joint means being constructed to permit the shade to enter in and withdraw from the recess. A bracket 100 secured to a wall or a recess in the wall 13 mounts the box which mounts the face plate. A recess in the face plate partly encloses the lamp when it is in the withdrawn position. The lamp pivots outwardly on a sphere 33 either integral with the face plate or mounted on a horizontal pivot 34 non rotatably mounted in brackets secured to the face plate and rotating through nearly 360 degrees on a tubular member 31 when the lamp is out of the box. The sphere seats in the closed end of a tubular member 30 housing a friction member 49 which presses against the sphere and is spaced by a spring 47 from another friction member 48 which presses against the tubular member 31. A clamp 32 joins the tubular members and a stop on the member 31 contacts a stop on element 40 of the clamp to limit the rotation of the lamp. The end of the member 31 has two wings which pass through an aperture in the shade and mount the pivots on a bracket 20 secured inside the shade and connected to the lamp socket holder 21. One part of the clamp securing the two tubular members together may be moulded to the member 30 the other part of the clamp being secured thereto.
