Abstract

869,999. Pasting wallpaper. HIGGINSON, N. Jan. 27, 1960 [Sept. 11, 1959], No. 30994/59. Class 140. An apparatus.for pasting wallpaper 1 comprises a frame having a container A<SP>1</SP> for paste, a cylinder B dipping in the paste, tension rollers B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> providing a nip for the paper, and a roller B3 over which the pasted paper is drawn, an adjustable scraper C co-operating with the cylinder B. The roller B<SP>3</SP> has a rubber or plastic sleeve, and drawing of the paper over it rotates the roller B<SP>3</SP> and a pinion b<SP>l</SP> engaging a pinion b<SP>2</SP> on the shaft of the cylinder B which is thereby rotated. The scraper C comprises a rotatable spindle having radial ribs c of varying height, the spindle having a screw or spring-operated plunger engaging holes in the frame to lock the spindle in a desired position. An adjustable roller B 4 mounted on pivoted arms b<SP>3</SP> presses the paper against the roller B<SP>3</SP> and evens out the pasted surface.
