Abstract

868,213. Wick burners. FLAVEL & CO. Ltd., SIDNEY. May 22, 1959 [March J8, 1958], No. 8608/58. Class 75(1). In an oil fired heater a burner head comprising an annular combustion chamber is removably secured to the upper end of an annular wick holder by a tube 24 on the burner head extending through central apertures in perforated discs 25. 26 in the central air tube 11 of the burner and by cross pins 31, 32 on the tube 24 which are adapted to be passed through notches 29 in the discs 25. 26. The cross pins 31, 32 are disposed at right angles to each other and are spaced in the axial direction of. the tube 24. so that when the burner head is seated on the upper disc 25 the pin 31 lies above and the pin 32 below the lower disc 26. The head is locked in this position by rotating it so that the lower pin 32 is out of alignment with the notches 29 in the lower disc. The head can be supported clear of the wick for lighting by passing the upper pin 31 through the notches 29 in the upper disc 25 and then rotating the head so that the upper pin can rest on the upper disc.
