Abstract

Polymers of N-vinyl-2-piperidone and copolymers thereof or of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone or of N-vinyl-5-methyl-2-pyrrolidone with vinyl salicylate, vinyl acetate, vinyl alcohol, methyl acrylate, acrylamide, methacrylamide, acrylonitrile, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, N-vinyl-caprolactam or N-vinyl-2-oxazolidone are prepared from the monomers using azobis-isobutyronitrile or hydrogen peroxide, as catalyst.
