Abstract
867,675. Pitot-tube apparatus. AVIMO Ltd. Feb. 26, 1960 [April 7, 1959], No. 11740/59. Class 69(1). In a Pitot-tube device as employed in connection with air velocity measurements including a heated tubular chamber 2 into the rear end of which the Pitot tube 9 opens and having an air entry 5 at its forward end, a baffle arrangement interposed between the air entry 5 and the Pitot tube 9 includes two baffles 15, 16 in overlapping relation, the baffle 16 being inclined to deflect water or ice particles downwardly. The heating wire 11 is arranged to provide the maximum concentration of heat around the entry 5. Specification 779,754 is referred to.
