Abstract
866,670. Hydraulic turbines. TIRASPOLSKY, W. Aug. 9, 1957 [Oct. 5, 1956], No. 30503/56. Class 110 (3). A well-drilling turbine comprises a rotor built up of a stack of parts and an outer stator also built up of a stack of parts, at least one of the stacks of parts being held together by a set of tension members passed through apertures or notches in the parts and pre-stressing the parts in compression. The turbine in Fig. 1 comprises an outer casing 11 with stator elements 10, and a rotor built up of blade-carrying discs 2 and spacer members 3. The rotor elements 2 and 3 are formed with apertures 8, 9 through which tension rods 4 are passed, the rods engaging in screwed holes in a shaft member 1 at their lower ends and passing through an apertured plate 5 at their upper ends. The rods are tensioned by means of nuts 6 which bear against the plate 5. In Fig. 4 a single tension rod 17 passes through central openings in the rotor elements 2, 3, the lower end of the rod being coned at 18 to engage a corresponding recess in the shaft member 1. The rod is tensioned by means of a nut member 22 which engages a coned member 21 which in turn engages a coned member 20 engaged on the rod. The rotor in Fig. 6 is built up of ring- shaped blade-carrying elements 27 and ring- shaped spacer elements 28, the elements being formed with apertures through which tension rods 29 are passed, the rods having nut members 30 at their lower ends which engage in recesses 31 in the shaft member 1, and the rods having coned portions 32 at their upper ends which engage in recesses 33 in a ring member 34 which is moved axially to tension the rod members 29 by means of a screwed ring member 35. This embodiment having a large central passage is utilised in coring plant, the coring tube being disposed in the central passage. Fig. 7 shows a stator casing comprising blade-carrying elements 36 and spacer elements 37 held together by means of tension rods 42 passed through apertures in the elements 36, 37, the rods engaging a stator member 38 at their lower ends and a stator element 39 at their upper ends.
