Abstract

866,093. Rotary distributers. ROTA, B. June 24, 1958 [June 27, 1957], No. 20176/58. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group VI] An automatic control device for an automatic coffee machine (see Group VJ) comprises a hollow dielectric cylindrical casing 120 containing a dielectric rotor drum 121 mounted on a shaft 122. Mounted on rotor 121 there are conducting rings 124, 125 which co-operate with brushes 126, 127. Contacts 134 extend from the periphery of rotor 121 and co-operate with brushes 150, 151, 152. Dielectric members 142, 142a, 142b, 142c, 142d, 142e, 142f activated through push-buttons are mounted in seatings in rotor 121 and carry metal rings 143, 144, 145 electrically interconnected and adapted to contact at given positions rings 124 and 125 and contacts 134. Members 142 have three positions, Fig. 8, in the top position fully depressed rings 143, 144 connect rings 124, 125 and ring 145 connects contact 134 to the current supply. A plate 146, secured within casing 120, forms a helical surface concentric with the rotor which co-operates with the surfaces of grooves 148 and 149 in members 142 so as to move them in two steps, see the central and lower positions in Fig. 8. In the central position rings 143, 144 are still in contact with rings 124, 125, but ring 145 is no longer in contact with contact 134, so that rotation is continued to complete the cycle. In the lower position all the connections are broken and the machine stops unless a further member 142 has been depressed. Means can be provided for automatically redepressing any setting member as soon as it is pushed outwards so that coffee is prepared continuously.
