865,829. Batteries. ELECTRIC STORAGE BATTERY CO. Sept. 23, 1958, No. 30315/58. Class 53. A sealed alkaline accumulator is provided with separators made of microporous material provided with macroscopic holes of such size that they do not become filled with electrolyte which is retained in the pores of the separators and plates. The larger holes may be of circular or rectangular shape, and they are arranged as shown at 13 in Fig. 3, so that gas passing upwardly between the plates encounters at least one opening before reaching the top of the plates.
