865,062. Surgical liquid containers. PFRIMMER, A., and SURHOLT, W., [trading as PFRIMMER & CO., J.]. July 25, 1958 [Sept. 24, 1957; April 1, 1958; June 28, 1958], No. 24045/58. Class 81 (2). A flexible container for therapeutic liquid has a portion of its wall, adjacent to a suspension eye, adapted to be pressed inwards so as to form a base on which the container may stand. In its simplest form the container a, made of polyethylene or similar material, is of generally cylindrical shape and the lower end b is pressed inwards to provide a base c. A suspension lug f is attached to this end and an outlet d is provided at the other end, this being intended either to be cut off or pierced by a hollow needle, when required for use. In other forms a series of coaxial ribs or channels may be formed in the wall, so that the end may be turned in at a selected point, and ribs may be formed on the walls themselves to assist collapse of the container as the contents are withdrawn. In every case the lower end may be pulled out immediately before use to give additional volume into which further medicament may be introduced. A piercable cap of the same material as the container may be placed on the outlet and sealed to it by heating.
