Abstract
864,288. Purses &c. WALTER MELVILLE Ltd. (Tschatsch, W.) July 6, 1959, No. 23165/59. Class 133. A purse, handbag, cigarette case, powder compact &c. of leather &c. having two separately openable compartments 1, 2 is constructed with a single metal stiffening member 3 comprising a central part with two limbs projecting from one side thereof, (see Fig. 3); the member 3 is of channel section, a common middle wall being secured therein. It also comprises a bar 6 spaced from its outer side which defines a slot 7 to receive a single sheet forming closure flaps 8 and 9. The bar 6 may be wider than the member 3 which can be offset in relation thereto. In a modification, a slot is provided in the top edge of the member 3 for receiving a closure tie means for one of the compartments.
