Abstract
863,799. Surgical syringes. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. Sept. 6, 1957 [Dec. 1, 1956], No. 28272/57. Class 81 (2). A cylindrical ampoule for use in a surgical syringe casing has a projecting integral or attached adaptor 3 for entry into and frictional engagement with a correspondingly recessed portion of an injection cannula. The ampoule 1 has at its forward end a rubber or synthetic plastic plug 5 having an axial bore in which a bored adapter 3 for receiving a hypodermic needle is fitted. The plug is shouldered to prevent it sliding into the ampoule and the adapter has a toroidal projection to prevent it sliding in the plug. The adapter may be integral with the plug. A cover 8 of rubber or synthetic plastic is secured to the plug or the ampoule by a flanged ring 9. The ampoule may have a neck-like opening, the plug being located inside the ampoule and the adapter projecting through the opening but having a flange to prevent it sliding into the ampoule. The adapter has either a tapered or a cylindrical needle-receiving end. The adapter may be integral with the ampoule, the plug being omitted. Reference, has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 830,513.
