Abstract

863,642. Substation circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. April 3, 1958 [May 10, 1957], No. 14921/57. Addition to 706,785. Class 40 (4). A substation having a non-linear shunt 10, 11 for the receiver 12 as described in the parent Specification has a blocking capacitor 4 connected between the line terminals, and a linebalancing network 1, 2, 3 connected across the blocking capacitor 4. The receiver 12 is connected across a balanced bridge 5, 8, 10, 11, Fig. 1, or a simplified version 15, 10, 11, Fig. 2, in series with a limiting resistor 16. A ringer 14 is connected across the line terminals in series with the blocking capacitor 4.
