Abstract

863,589. Moulding plastics. CLARK Ltd., C. & J. (Fratelli Rotelli S. & L.). March 23, 1959 [March 25, 1958], No. 9521/58. Class 87(2). A number of split moulds or mould carriers 8 are supported on a rotatable turret 12 and brought in turn to a charging position where the moulds or carriers are firmly clamped by means of alignment rings 6, 7 having tapering surfaces 6A, 7A coacting with complementary faces on the moulds or carriers. A platen 4, serving as a mould conveyer, is movable vertically by rams 5 (preferably fluid-operated). The ring 7 ensures accurate register with the nozzle 1A of an injection cylinder 1. A peg 9 projecting from each mould carrier 8 is secured by a captive nut 13 to a spigot 11 on the turret 12. Each carrier 8 comprises two hinged portions held closed by a clamp 14.
